House Bill 169

House Bill 169

by
Phil Haunschild
February 24, 2017

Bill description: This bill would prevent other states from requiring Idaho to reintroduce species without legislative approval.

Rating: +1

Does it in any way restrict public access to information related to government activity or otherwise compromise government transparency or accountability? Conversely, does it increase public access to information related to government activity or increase government transparency or accountability?

Currently, Idaho Code 67-6302 prevents the federal government from compelling Idaho to introduce foreign species or reintroduce species without approval from the Legislature. This bill would expand this prohibition without approval from the Legislature to include other states and their agencies. This is a step to hold other governments accountable for actions within Idaho. (+1)
